Born February 26, 1981 in Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville, FL USA, while my father was completing his medical residency.  other 1981 events: Reagan, MTV, AIDS.  Learned how to read using Boggle with my babysitter, Andy.  Move to Seattle, WA, at 1 1/2.  Frightened by “Thriller.”  Loved “Karma Chameleon,” the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, and Coca-Cola.  Moved to my hometown, Glasgow, KY when I was 3 1/2.  Loved Mammoth Cave, book orders, kokomo, vogue.  Grew up dancing in my mother’s classes, reading, doing all my homework, and fantasizing about my adult life as a forensic scientist.  In fifth grade, my brother, Daniel, was born.  The next year I got braces, started playing the trumpet and got a B in conduct for being too excited about language arts.  Barely survived middle school and continued my time in KY marching in the GHS Scottie Band, playing defense on the soccer team, and dancing.  Class of 1999 co-Valedictorian with my friend Justin.  other 1999 events: Y2K, Columbine, clamshell, don’t ask don’t tell.  Matriculated to Brown University.  Studied anything and everything, most notably biology, neuroscience, classics, literature, geology, German, and music,  Performed as an actor, dancer, and trumpeter.  Choreographed, dramaturged, and produced.  Graduated in 2003 with a BA in Music.  Other 2003 events: homeland security, fire, SARS, Iraq, HGP,  HUDF.  Attended ADF that summer.  Moved to Dresden, Germany and studied as a Gaststudent at the Palucca Schule with my high school austauschschwester, Britta.  Loved Dresden, but hated the school. Wandered Europe alone until I got homesick.  Moved to NYC and began my Dance MFA at NYU Tisch.  Time, space, energy.  Worked at Dance Theater Workshop. Met the community and saw lots of work.  Graduated in 2006, danced with Milka Djordjevich, Douglas Dunn, Palissimo, Kyle Abraham, Bill T. Jones, Project Limb, Edisa Weeks, Walter Dundervill, Leah Nelson, Stefanie Nelson, Sharon Moore, Gerald Casel, Gudmunder Helgason, Daria Faïn and more, i’m sure.  Moved to Greenpoint.  Traveled to Slovakia, Poland, Canada, and Iceland.  Began Project Paper Trail.  Presented We Have Become Beautiful at CPR.  Travelled to Wyoming, Portland, and California.  Moved to Oregon.  Met fancy people.  Danced in Montana: Jasperse, Uchizono, Comfort, Lubovich.  Back to NYC: teach, show, perform, and live, live, live.
